Mr. Calvin CHAN Ka-wai, MH, JP
Mr. Calvin Chan is the Chairman and CEO of CATALO Natural Health Science Group. He holds a Bachelor Degree of Science - Business Administration in Finance (BBA) from the University of Southern California and is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant of CPA Australia. Since establishing CATALO in 1999, Mr. Chan has dedicated 27 years to natural health science research and innovation, actively promoting CATALO as a trustworthy brand to enhance family health.
Mr. Chan was appointed Justice of the Peace in 2026 and awarded the Medal of Honour in 2020 for his significant contributions to Hong Kong’s trade and industries. His achievements have inspired the younger generation, earning him the Hong Kong Young Industrialist Award in 2012, the Guangdong-HK-Macao Greater Bay Outstanding Young Entrepreneur in 2022, and recognition in Forbes China’s “2023 GBA ESG Entrepreneur 30”. He joined the Business and Professional Alliance for Hong Kong in 2023, continuing to offer insights for Hong Kong’s development.
Furthermore, Mr. Chan holds numerous public service appointments, including Member of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Member of the Election Committee of the HKSAR, Voting Member of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Member of Minimum Wage Commission, Member of Trade and Industry Advisory Board, Committee Member on Innovation, Technology and Industry Development, Co-opted Member of Business Facilitation Advisory Committee, Member of Advisory Committee on Tax Policy, Director of Hong Kong Design Centre, Vice President of the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association (CMA) of Hong Kong and Chairman of Sustainable Development and New Industrialisation Committee of CMA, Chairman of Hong Kong Brand Development Council, Honorary President of Hong Kong Health Food Association, Court Member of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), and Steering Committee of Research Institute for Future Food of PolyU, Executive Committee Member of Hong Kong Retail Management Association, etc.
Register of Member's Interests
The Competition Ordinance and the Rules of Procedure of the Commission require that a member of the Commission, or a member of a committee of the Commission, must disclose to the Commission any interest that the member has which is of a class or description determined by the Commission. The Competition Ordinance and the Rules of Procedure also provide that the Commission is to establish and maintain a register relating to any such disclosed interests which it must make available for inspection through the Internet.
The purpose of maintaining and publishing a register of interests is not specified in the Competition Ordinance. Nonetheless, the Commission infers that the purpose is to enhance transparency and to ensure objectivity, fairness and public confidence in the decision-making of the Commission.
