On 8 August 2017, the Commission issued the Competition (Block Exemption For Vessel Sharing Agreements) Order 2017 ("Order").
On 7 July 2022, the Commission issued a variation of the Order, renewing it until 8 August 2026.
On 7 August 2025, the Commission commenced a second review of the Order.
In light of the Commission's provisional findings from the second review, the Commission is proposing to renew the Order for a further term of five years, and now launches a consultation on the proposal. Interested parties are invited to submit representations to the Commission. The consultation will assist the Commission in making a final decision on the future of the Order.
The Commission published a notice issued under s.20(2) of the Competition Ordinance regarding its proposal to renew the Order (using the variation procedure in the Ordinance).
The period for accepting representations on the proposal is now closed.
